The Automated Material Handling AMH system consists of well-proven and tested components adapted to the special requirements for shipboard use. Its dedicated computer controlled software and machinery systems enable compact storage of a wide variety of goods allowing an associated reduction in crewing requirements. With this automisation the number of employees can be reduced. The control of stored goods and the automatic monitoring of expiry dates of perishables are improved. The hygienic standard is greatly improved. The risk of damage or theft is considerably reduced. The system can also be operated in rooms with reduced oxygen (Controlled Atmosphere) which improving the storage options for fruits and vegetables and reducing the danger of fire.
